As the Quantity Surveyor you will work closely with our Contract Teams, taking ownership of cost control, commercial management, and profitability across the full project lifecycle – from initial concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cost planning and commercial performance across projects
- Prepare, analyse, and negotiate tenders and contract costs
- Monitor variations, profitability, and cash flow throughout delivery
- Review contract documents to protect against risk and onerous terms
- Lead on subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account management
- Support tender submissions by assessing risk and opportunity
- Produce commercial reports and cost-to-complete forecasts
- Manage and submit variations and contractual claims
- Drive value engineering and cost efficiency without compromising quality
- Attend internal and external commercial review meetings
- Ensure compliance with industry contracts, standards, and H&S regulations
Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness (NEC experience desirable)
- Background in civil engineering, utilities, or M&E projects
- Confident managing multiple contracts and stakeholders
- Excellent numeracy, negotiation, and reporting skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage workloads effectively
- A clear communicator who can simplify complex information
