We are seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, maintenance, and fault-finding activities across the site, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plant, equipment, and infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining electrical reliability, supporting improvement projects, and contributing to overall site performance.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
- Carry out electrical installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance activities across the site in accordance with current electrical regulations, company standards, and health & safety requirements.
- Install electrical containment systems including tray work, conduit, trunking, and associated support structures.
- Complete electrical wiring, termination, and commissioning of equipment and systems.
Control Panels & Systems
- Wire, modify, and maintain control panels ensuring correct configuration, functionality, and compliance.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings to complete work accurately.
- Support the installation and upgrading of electrical control systems.
Fault Finding & Repairs
- Diagnose and resolve electrical faults efficiently to minimise downtime and production impact.
- Fault-find and maintain single-phase and three-phase electrical circuits.
- Maintain, test, and repair electric motors, drives, and associated equipment.
- Implement remedial and corrective actions to address recurring faults and improve system reliability.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Support additional electrical installation and improvement projects as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving plant efficiency, safety, and reliability.
- Provide technical input into equipment upgrades and modifications.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Work in full compliance with electrical safety regulations, site procedures, and risk assessments.
- Ensure all work activities are carried out safely, including adherence to isolation and permit-to-work systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports relating to electrical work completed.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience working as an Industrial Electrician within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, including control panels, motor maintenance, and industrial plant equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Highly skilled in fault finding, diagnostics, and corrective maintenance, with the ability to resolve issues efficiently and safely.
- Sound understanding of health and safety regulations, with a strong commitment to safe systems of work and compliance standards.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or Electrical/Engineering discipline (essential).
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Good communication skills with a collaborative mindset.
